Spectacular new single track mountain bike trail at Dead Horse State Park near Moab - this very scenic, wide single track trail is one we like to ride with our guests who want an easier, yet exciting Moab bike tour experience.
Intrepid has a little bit of everything, starting with a fast downhill over some slick rock and packed dirt. Very dramatic overlooks of the Colorado River and, of course, Dead Horse Point. (Not a horse in sight!) There are awe-inspiring views off the edges of the rim. Mix riding with some sightseeing, including Upheaval Dome and tucked away petroglyphs.
This entire loop (about 12 miles) can be raced through in 90 minutes. Or take a more leisurely cruise of up to four hours, including a lunch break and lots of photo ops. We include it on our Solfun Photo Tour trips, too. Tours at Solfun often begin or end with a sunrise or sunset ride next to Canyonlands National Park because that's when the vistas are at their most spectacular.
Intrepid has a shorter four-mile loop that includes a lot of slick rock terrain. The big loop has about four miles of very fast, curvy, mostly downhill for the speed demon mountain biker. You can even catch a little air on this Moab bike tour without risking your reputation or skin.
Intrepid's higher elevation feels much cooler when Moab weather turns toasty on July and August afternoons.
